Out and about with El Kopye...

I had the chance to hang out with Kopyeon yesterday and chop it up about what's new in his life and the "graff scene". First off we headed out to 33Third in Los Angeles to pick up some paint. I took a bunch of flicks of some great pieces inside the shop. Then we headed out to Pinches Tacos for lunch! As we get older and our lives become so hectic with work and stuff sometimes it's nice just slow down and catch up with old friends and see what they've been up to...

"The Smith's Safari"

I was comissioned to paint this piece for Steffen and Felicia Smith's new baby's room.
At first I didn't think i could pull it off, this was my first multi-panel piece. The medium used was Acrylic on 12" x 12" canvases. These were the animals that they've seen on their South Africa trip.
I'm happy how it all turned out.
Hope you all like it!
Peace!

Trying out other medium...

So I've had these Yasutomo Waterbrush for a while and I was a little hesitant in trying it. I was never a fan of watercolor beacuse it's such a hard medium to use!...one wrong move and you have to live with that. Unlike acrylic or spray paint you can always go over your mistakes.
But I do have lots of respect to the artists that have mastered the technique.
I love the texture that it has, how the water takes a life of its own and go where ever it wants.
So unpredictable...
My piece is a 5" x 5" canvas board and I've used a Prismacolor Rouge Toscan PC937 for the color. Title: "Self-Inflicted Pain" It's still a work in progress...
Hope you guys like it.

Character Wall @ MAINTAIN-Cypress

One of the many reasons why I love painting outdoors is running into interesting people like this guy, he was cool enough to let me take a flik of him. He was also a street artist... check out his piece.

Here's how my piece came out, not bad for a rushed 3 hours work!

Thanks to Alex @ Maintain for letting me jump on the wall and getting to paint with some talented "CATS"! See more of the wall @ http://www.facebook.com/?ref=home#!/album.php?aid=36944&id=100000991671781
Peace!
